Paper Piecing with Carolyn: Pocket Compass

Students will learn:

*Quiltworx Basics: Master pattern reading and specialized techniques for perfect fabric placement.
*  Flawless Accuracy: Learn sewing techniques that ensure blocks line up perfectly with adjacent blocks every single time using smart corners.
*  Learn curved piecing and veins that highlight the star points.
*  Paper-Piecing Efficiency: See how Quiltworx engineered newsprint patterns guarantee precision and makes assembly a piece of cake!

A Fabric Requirement and Pre-class Instruction list will be available for pick up at the front register (you may contact the instructor for assistance with fabric and color choices).

Supplies Needed:

*  Rotary Cutter
*  6.5x24: ruler for cutting width of fabric (smaller rulers, as desired)
*  Add-A-Quarter 12"(optional) 18"(required)
*  Sewline Fabric Glue Pen plus refills on hand-available at the shop
*  Scotch Repositionable Craft Stick*-blue label, white glue inside
*  Roxanne's Basting Glue (optional)
*  Size 70 Microtex sewing needles for piecing
*  Matching thread for piecing and quilting- 50-60wt
*  Turning Template to use with the Add-A-quarter ruler; I will provide students with this if students do not have one
*  Ziploc bags to organize pieces
*  Large paper clips
*  Light pad (optional but helpful when lining up fabrics to the papers)
*  Good operating sewing machine capable of straight stitch
*  Typical sewing tools such as awl or stiletto, seam ripper, tweezers, pins, clips, extra bobbins, etc.
